5.7 Instant on, Frequent switching
Instant on, Frequent switching
Unlike other traditional light sources such as fluorescent or metal halide lamps, LEDs reach full brightness instantly, with no re-strike delay. In general illumination, instant turn on can be desirable for both safety and convenience. In contrast with traditional light sources, LED’s lifetime and lumen maintenance stays unaffected by frequent switching.
The cycling capability makes LEDs well-suited to use with all types of on-off controls, such as occupancy or daylight sensors.
